Insult To Injury level up with their first ever V/A EP: ‘Corpus Vol 1’.

A fittingly dark and forthright collection for these strange, unparalleled times, Timothy Clerkin’s label digs deep into the rawest rudiments with four friends old and new. The results are some of the label’s most striking cuts since launching in 2018.

We kick off with Anna Lann who appeared on the label’s first ever release. She comes serving a ‘Club Sandwich’. Less of a light bite, more of a full banquet in a steel baguette, this one becomes more of a feast the more you get into it.

Anna is followed by Pedro Martins. New to the label but not new to our ears and souls, the Karakter Records roustabout makes his Insult To Injury debut with a beautifully smouldering slab of melancholy electro. Heavy in sonic weight, even heavier in emotion, this one will tug hard at your heartstrings right now.

Deeper into the EP we find another friend; Emmanuel Caurel also appeared on the label’s debut release and is back again with an ode to Detroit. Relentless, rolling tech laced with a whole maze of textures; it’s the type of track you’ll hear something new in every single time you play it.

Last but not least we have Aimes. Closing the EP with more of his signature Wonder stuff, here we find him taking a moody, brooding sentiment as ‘Phosphorescent’ slinks and elopes into the dark unknown in a unhurried pace. Think mid 2000s Berlin, think mid 90s acid and R&S, think brighter times ahead…. Insult To Injury have captured a serious moment in time right here.
